Quiet Intuitive painting after guided meditation and then slow contour drawing, not looking at the paper... being guided more by the sense of touch rather than by sight. Being present in the moment with the daffodil and drawing only when feeling connected with, and as if touching, the point on the petal/stem rather than the paper.

Animal Spirits/Totems
Looking at Celtic, Native American and Norse symbolism and animals of significance to us at this time, and invoking these animals whilst painting :) Butterflies, bluetits, buzzards, she-bears and cats joined us today!

Line dancing to classical music and sometimes with two hands as a duet :) How feeling the music, the instrument and tempo inform the types of marks we make and our movements on the paper... No intention or ties to outcome and whether it 'looks good', being open to surprises.
Inspired by Radio 4's 'Desert Island Discs' and illustrator Chris Riddell's approach to beginning his drawings...x Beginning with Vaughan Williams' 'Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis'. Wonderful session!

Inspired by Rothko and experimenting with colour on colour, a nod to Josef Albers too and colour energies x...would have been great to have a longer session for this and look at gentle blending/melting of colours, and a luminous 'floating sense' too ...:)
Tied in with gentleness and being gentle on ourselves; activating our 'Gentleness instinct' by Bingz Huang.

Five painting together on 4 x A2 sheets taped together....making a larger mark, being seen, taking space, wider sweeps of the brush, the arms, the body.... opening, heartful... and often a new and surprising sensation when we, and our body language, are used to being small, hidden...our voice so quiet, not willing to disturb...
Brave and bold! & can be emotional too...
- & it was so wonderful seeing so many different elements, stories, images...in the painting afterwards :)
